Winners and Losers

Today the republicans in the House of Reps succumbed to the pressure of the media and caved to the two month extension on the so called "tax cut". The liberal media continued to make the Republican leadership look like bad guys and say that the working people of America would lose if the House did not agree to the proposal. In my humble opinion the people are not the winners they think they are.
Take a look at what we are going to get. Those who make $50,000 or more a year will get a 2% reduction in the amount of FICA tax withheld from their paychecks. At $50,000 that means $1000 a year or $20 each week. You do the math.The maximum amount that will be in the paycheck of workers is $40 because the income amount that is taxed by FICA is around $108,000.  However, what it really means is that Social Security will get about 500 billion dollars less into the fund this year. We are already looking at a major deficit in the SS fund because we are paying SS recipients from the general fund now, which is at a deficit level of 15 trillion dollars. So what we are doing is kicking the can down the road a little more. What a great win for the people. Twenty years or thirty years from now when you turn to Social Security to retire and find that there is no money in the system how will you feel?  No the people are not winners in this matter. The congress does not really care that much because they do not pay into Social Security. This was not a war over who likes the average taxpayer more, this was a war on conservative values and common sense. The winner is? Can You answer the question before I give it to you? If you can then you are probably at least thinking for yourself. The winner is President Obama. He promised to change America and so far he has done a great job. He has for all practical purposes taken over the media and they play to his every whim. So when the media started siding with the Democrats and Mr. Obama the republicans felt they could not stand their ground and hold to the substance of what was going on. We should not have extended the tax holiday in this way, but the House had passed a bill that would have extended the tax holiday and paid for it. What happened to that idea? Harry Reid would not allow that plan to come to the senate and decided his way was better, a 2 month extension that is not paid for. Kick the can! Now when they come back from Christmas break they will have to start all over again.
Mr. Obama wins because the media gives him the platform to take credit for what happened, even though he did not negotiate in any way, He simply said what he wanted and the dems and the media stepped in line and made the Republicans look bad.
When will the American people wake up? Will it be to late to save this nation?
On another note: Today Harry Reid said that we need to find a way to extend unemployment benefits. I totally disagree, What we need is to find a way to put these people back to work.

True Leadership

I have been reading a book by John C. Maxwell and Jim Dornan, "Becoming A Person Of Influence."
In this book there is a list of eight things that a leader must possess to be truly influential.
1. He/She must model a consistency of Character.
2. Employ honest communication/
3. Value Transparency.
4. Exemplify humility.
5. Demonstrate true support of others.
6. Fulfill your promises.
7. Embrace an attitude of service.
8. Encourage two-way participation with the people you influence.

To me this is a very hefty demand on anyone but to be truly a leader we must endure the difficult demands of leadership.
I feel that the current leadership of this nation does not demonstrate any of the characteristics listed above but that is not what I am writing about today. Today I want to talk about the candidates for Republican nominee. Are there true leaders in this group? Can they do the things "We The People" expect form them? Is there a level of integrity that surpasses that of the progressive/ liberal movement of this day?
Newt Gingrich is leading the polls going into the Iowa caucus. However, I am a little concerned about his leadership ability. Yes, he once was the Speaker of the House and accomplished some things that kept us moving in the right direction. He also has made millions off of the "Global Warming" platform and through council with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. It seems to me that if you are a true conservative and stand on the idea that these ideas have flaws ten you shouldn't be trying to make money working with them. He also has had some issues with past indiscretion and while I know that no one is perfect, being totally honest about things is better than trying to slide around the issue. Face things head on and take the criticism. Be transparent, open and honest. Are you doing this for the people or are you doing it for yourself?
Mitt Romney is not a conservative and has not clearly answered the question about state mandated health care. If it is good enough for his state then will he feel it will work for the entire country? Is he really in touch with the middle class? He says that he knows how to create jobs but just today put out his plan with 50, yes 50 points that he says will correct our economy. Yet, He to believes in man made global warming. He claims that man is part of the cause of the increase in global temperatures. Hasn't that been debunked? Global warming is a planned world catastrophe used to "spread the wealth" where in the rich will get richer and the poor poorer and the middle class will disappear. If someone truly believes in global warming they are certainly for bigger government to control the people and their usage of the God given resources we have in this world.

I do not feel comfortable with either of these men, but if one of these receives the nomination, I will vote for him as the better choice over Mr. Obama/

I think that we have been led astray in this country and have to settle for the one that seems to be the best choice, but what about integrity and leadership? Will these people lead from a position of true humility? Will they be transparent and honest with the people? Will they be servants to the people and the constitution? Will they be humble in character, not thinking themselves more valuable than any other citizen of this great nation? Will they keep their promises? {ersonally I don't think they will but you must decide for yourself. Follow the eight points at the beginning of this piece and vote your consceince and heart. This is all about Integrity.

Teacher's Strike?

I heard on the news today that the teachers of Tacoma, Washington are on strike because the classes are to big and the pay is not enough. According to public records the average teacher salary last school year was $63,793.
I am sorry but this seems a little extreme to me. don't get me wrong, I love teachers . for the most part. My mother was a teacher and worked very hard to assure that her students dd the necessary work to progress in school. However, when I see public employees going on strike, I wonder why they think this is okay. It is not the state that is paying them, it is the taxpayers of that state. These people on strike against the families of the children they are supposed to be teaching.
This teachers union said the strike was for the teachers and the students, but how does this help the students? I understand overcrowding and some of the difficulties that teachers face everyday, but a strike is not the answer. Is this going to endear them to most of the families? NO most of these families are the taxpayers who pay them and the private sector is losing jobs like a leaky rain barrel. At what point will the public sector understand that the money is running out? Will it take a strike by the taxpayer to show the unions and public employees that they have had enough?
The new poverty statistics show that 48.5 million people are now below the poverty line and yet the public sector is growing. Even now the President says his new jobs bill is to put more teachers and fire fighters to work. More public workers, who only pay taxes from the taxes they receive as pay.
I don't want to get rid of teachers and other public workers, they are necessary,but there has to be and end to the selfishness of these people who think it is okay to strike for more.
I know many good teachers and many of them are between a rock and a hard place because they want to do a great job with kids, but the unions tie their hands and they are afraid of losing their jobs if they speak up. so they are forced to go along with much of the problem.
Teachers need to go back to work or the parents need to take their kids out of school and home school. then the teachers won't have overcrowded classes and eventually they won't be needed at all.

Enough Is Enough

I received this in an email and I thought it was appropriate for this day. WE Have allowed illegals into our country to easily and some of those illegals were the terrorists of 9/11.

Obama's Union Leadership

This is a story from the National Right to Work Committee. It is very obvious the level of destruction this administration, under President Obama, Unions are willing to pursue.
Unfortunately, many people will be fearful of these thugs and sign to avoid the harassment and pain of Thuggery. How far will our nation plunge before we look up again and see the light of day?

Picture a local "Mom and Pop" store in your area.

The business is a staple of the community. The owners know every customer's name. The employees love their jobs.

The company has never broken the law. It's never even been charged.

None of this matters to President Barack Obama's National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

The NLRB -- far exceeding its authority -- is now forcing its way into private-sector workplaces nationwide, even if workers don't want to labor under union-boss control and if the company has never been accused of an "unfair labor practice."

Mom and Pop shops, small businesses, larger companies -- even some religiously-affiliated organizations -- are now under the Obama Labor Board's microscope.

The NLRB implemented a new rule this week to require as many as SIX MILLION private-sector employers to post biased notices about the National Labor Relations Act that effectively serve as a roadmap to unionization.

After the outrageous complaint against Boeing and the proposed ambush elections scheme, this latest Obama Labor Board move may be its most pernicious yet.

You see, the NLRB has two chief functions.

First, it administers union certification and decertification elections. Second, it adjudicates cases when workers, employers, or union officials file unfair labor practice charges against either unions or companies.

But now the NLRB has invented out of whole cloth a new unfair labor practice without Congressional approval. No other federal agency has ever made it unlawful to fail to post a notice that wasn't required by Congress.

Any job provider that fails to post the biased notice could find itself forced into a lengthy and costly legal battle.

Mom and Pop can't afford that.

What makes the new rule even more troubling is that anyone can file the unfair labor practice charge -- not just the company's employees.
The new rule hands aggressive union organizers another weapon in so-called "corporate campaigns" in which they drag a business through the mud in the media with frivolous accusations of employer misconduct.

Union bosses only back off after the business agrees to throw its employees under the bus and let the union launch an abusive "card check" organizing campaign.

This "top-down" union organizing strategy frequently involves a team of union agents showing up at workers' homes and browbeating them with misleading statements, outright lies, and even intimidation until the worker agrees to sign a so-called "union authorization card" instead of a secret-ballot election.

Meanwhile, experts believe the NLRB is scheming to impose card check "neutrality agreements" on businesses found to have committed labor law violations.

Media reports in the Boeing case revealed that the NLRB's Acting General Counsel tried to force Boeing into a settlement to let union officials gain monopoly bargaining power over employees through card check.

This latest power grab is yet more evidence of its desperate desire to pay off Big Labor before the next election, and it's an invitation to Big Labor to run card check campaigns everywhere in America.

The Truth About Our Nation

 

I don't know if this really happened, but it seems to be what is going on in our nation today. I got this in an email and thought it was to important to leave alone. Read this and weep for our country and the liberty she stands for.

Tennessee Football This is a statement that was read over the PA system at the football game at Roane County High School ,Kingston , Tennessee by school Principal, Jody McLeod. "It has always been the custom at Roane County High School football games, to say a prayer and play the National Anthem, to honor God and Country.." Due to a recent ruling by the Supreme Court, I am told that saying a Prayer is a violation of Federal Case Law. As I understand the law at this time, I can use this public facility to approve of sexual perversion and call it "an alternate life style," and if someone is offended, that's OK. I can use it to condone sexual promiscuity, by dispensing condoms and calling it, "safe sex." If someone is offended, that's OK. I can even use this public facility to present the merits of killing an unborn baby as a "viable" means of birth control." If someone is offended, no problem... I can designate a school day as "Earth Day" and involve students in activities to worship religiously and praise the goddess "Mother Earth" and call it "ecology.." I can use literature, videos and presentations in the classroom that depicts people with strong, traditional Christian convictions as "simple minded" and "ignorant" and call it "enlightenment.." However, if anyone uses this facility to honor GOD and to ask HIM to Bless this event with safety and good sportsmanship, then Federal Case Law is violated. This appears to be inconsistent at best, and at worst, diabolical. Apparently, we are to be tolerant of everything and anyone, except GOD and HIS Commandments. Nevertheless, as a school principal, I frequently ask staff and students to abide by rules with which they do not necessarily agree. For me to do otherwise would be inconsistent at best, and at worst, hypocritical. I suffer from that affliction enough unintentionally. I certainly do not need to add an intentional transgression. For this reason, I shall "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's," and refrain from praying at this time. " However, if you feel inspired to honor, praise and thank GOD and ask HIM, in the name of JESUS, to Bless this event, please feel free to do so.. As far as I know, that's not against the law----yet." One by one, the people in the stands bowed their heads, held hands with one another and began to pray. They prayed in the stands. They prayed in the team huddles. They prayed at the concession stand and they prayed in the Announcer's Box! The only place they didn't pray was in the Supreme Court of the United States of America- the Seat of "Justice" in the "one nation, under GOD." Somehow, Kingston , Tennessee Remembered what so many have forgotten. We are given the Freedom OF Religion, not the Freedom FROM Religion. Praise GOD that HIS remnant remains! JESUS said, "If you are ashamed of ME before men, then I will be ashamed of you before MY FATHER.." If you are not ashamed, pass this on. I'm not one bit ashamed to pass this on, Are you? A Lovely Letter From The First Lady

Dear American Taxpayer
For only the second time in my adult life, I am not ashamed of my country. I want to thank the hard working American people for paying $242 thousand dollars for my vacation in Spain .
My daughter Sasha, several long-time family friends, my personal staff and various guests had a wonderful time. Honestly, you just haven’t lived until you have stayed in a $2,500..00 per night private 3-story villa at a 5-Star luxury hotel.
Thank you also for the use of Air Force Two and the 70 Secret Service personnel who tagged along to be sure we were safe and cared for at all times. By the way, if you happen to be visiting the Costa del Sol, I highly recommend the Buenaventura Plaza restaurant in Marbella ; great lobster with rice and oysters! I’m ashamed to admit the lobsters we ate in Martha’s Vineyard were not quite as tasty, but what can you do if you’re not in Europe , you have to just grin and bear it?
Air Force Two (which costs $11,351 per hour to operate according to Government Accounting Office reports) only used 47,500 gallons of jet fuel for this trip and carbon emissions were a mere 1,031 tons of CO2. These are only rough estimates, but they are close. That’s quite a carbon footprint as my good friend Al Gore would say, so we must ask the American citizens to drive smaller, more fuel efficient cars and drive less too, so we can lessen our combined carbon footprint.
I know times are hard and millions of you are struggling to put food on the table and trying to make ends meet. So I do appreciate your sacrifices and do hope you find work soon.
I was really exhausted after Barack took our family on a luxury vacation in Maine a few weeks ago. I just had to get away for a few days.

After all, we couldn’t take him on Air Force One because he might pee on some wires or something.
P.SSS. Oh, I almost forgot to say thanks also for our two-week trip to Hawaii at Christmas. That 7,000 square foot house was great!

OBAMA'S "INHERITED" DEFICIT

The Washington Post babbled again today about Obama inheriting a huge deficit from Bush. Amazingly enough, a lot of people swallow this BULL.
So once more, a short civics lesson.
Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party.
For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budgets.If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.
If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.
In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th.
When will Mr. Obama take responsibility for what he has done? When he is re-elected!!! don't let that happen.
There is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on! This is your chance to make a difference. Stay Focused, Connected, Informed & Inspired.

Mr. Obama Working Hard To Reduce The Deficit

The President has given several raises to his staff. Even though he has blocked increases for seniors for two years now. Aren't we in the middle of a debt crisis? Still we can increase the pay of government employees who produce nothing.

Debt Ceiling Negotiations

We have all heard the saying "the devil is in the details", well that seems to be the truth here. The Democrats and Mr. Obama are trying to make the Republicans look like the bad guys, especially those who are part of the tea party movement. The Dems in the House and Senate yesterday could be heard across Washington saying that the Tea Party Republicans were holding the people of America "hostage". Now they are calling us terrorists.
This is absolutely blasphemous. The democrats are the ones who have held the budget hostage for more than 800 days, yes, that is more than two years. Yet they berate the Republicans for trying to save this country from the continued destructive direction we are headed. We all know that Washington has a spending problem. They like to spend too much of our hard earned money and then they want more. When will they reach the point of no return? Meaning, when will it become so obvious tat there is no more money for them to spend/ You can only tax so much, are they going to confiscate 100% of the money from the "rich?" Look what has happened in the past when nations began to re=distribute the wealth. The USSR (no longer a nation) took the wealth and began to re=distribute until the people that they swore to help were in worse poverty than before.The same has happened to every socialist nation or communist nation through out history. But still, we run head first toward that very destruction. Why?
Well the answer to that is very simple. When man thinks he is more important than God and more capable of running this world than He, there is gong to be trouble. God set the standard when He said "you will have no other god's but Me." However, the elitists of this world will claim there is no God and that man has the ability to rule himself and others who are to stupid to rule themselves. Who are the stupid to these people? Those of us who believe in God! We are ridiculed and laughed at and oppressed by the tyranny of so called government. The leaders of government believe they are god and that we should all bow down to them because they will make sure we have everything we need. No need for personal responsibility the government will be responsible for you and your decisions. don't worry about anything, just give us complete control over the choices of your life and everything will be just fine. This is nothing new, it started way back when Adam and Eve decided that they wanted to be just like God.
so your kids come home from school and say we talked about creationism in science today? NO! Government schools give no room for honest debate they simply take the theory of evolution and deem It truth so they don't have to deal with God. Out of sight, out of mind.
So here we are, in a situation that has put the freedoms of this country in jeopardy. You want freedom and yet you take government handouts. I am not talking about Social Security and Medicare, but I am talking about all the socialist programs that have caused people to lose their dreams and ambitions. Where are the dreamers, the inventors, the go getter's, who built this country on hard work and opportunity? Where are the people who explore and create? Where are the winners? They are left in the dust by a society that has put God away and said that only the "well educated elite" can have anything. If you believe in God you are ignorant and incapable of moving up in this world. I think that is what is holding the people of America hostage today. We are not allowed to think anymore. We have to accept as truth whatever the government and the schools tell us. We are to stupid to know the truth.
Well I am tired of being oppressed by this government and it's left wing schools and the unions that steal from the members to fund more of the progressive agenda that continues to teach our children that the government is god and they can only survive by being followers. STAND UP AMERICA AND FIGHT BACK!!! Especially those of you who call yourselves followers of Christ. Take back what is rightfully God's and take back your dignity.

Mr. Obama's Posse

I wasn't going to post this weekend but I just heard an interview with a former Obama staff person. She said that Mr. O has bent over backwards in the debt negotiations and the Republicans have not given anything. What the heck is she talking about. Obama has not offered one single legitimate idea in this process and is demanding that the Republicans give in to his tax increases.
Personally I am sick of all these people giving Obama a free pass. He has done nothing less than add 5 trillion dollars to the debt in less than 3 years and he has the gaul to say the only way to fix this is to raise taxes, without spending cuts mind you.Republicans have passed a budget that would save medicare and social security and also cut 6.4 trillion in the next ten years. Which is better? do nothing per Obama or cut spending?
Republicans in the House have also passed Cut,  and balance, which would force the government to balance its own budget and stop the increase in spending without having the money to spend. Don't you think that is more reasonable than increasing spending without thinking of the consequences?
Think about history. Herbert Hoover became President at the beginning of the Great Depression and increased spending by 50%. Franklin D Roosevelt gave us the New Deal spending more money by giving freebies to the poor and raising taxes to pay for his reform. The Great Depression did not end until after WWII and at that point we had to cut spending because there were not enough people working to pay the government debt.
Where are we today?
For all of you Obama supporters, stop giving him a free pass and look at the facts. We are doomed if we continue down this same path. We must balance our national budget just like at home. And we must get people back to work. Without those two things in the agenda we will not be a free country in the next three years.

Gatlinburg Tennessee

Hi to all who read my blog. I have been spending the last week in the beautiful Gatlinburg area. The Westgate Smokey Mountain Resort is absolutely wonderful. If you ever want to visit simply email me at kenfr3230@gmail.com and I will help you get a special rate.

It has been hot here but that is not an issue. We have been to the Smith Family Theater and saw the Smith Brothers. It was a good show, I would rate it 8 out of 10. A definte must see if you are in town. 

Hiking in the mountains is a great experience. We went to Cades Cove and saw some of the old homes and churches. Then  we hike back to Abrams Falls, 2.5 miles in and 2.5 miles back out. I thought I would die, but I made it, bad heart and all. If you do the hike make sure you take more than one water bottle and a good pair of hiking shoes.

It is always busy here but the only place we had to wait a long time was Wendy's. The Apple Barn is worth the trip and the food at the Applewood restaurant is wonderful.

Just a six hour drive from Dayton, Ohio and well worth the trip.

I know this is not why you read this blog and next week I will be back to my regular writings, but I thought a review of our vacation would be good.

Mr. Obama's Rhetoric

Today Mr. Obama gave another speech, the media called it unprecedented to have two press conferences in the same week. However, all he is doing is saying the same things over and over again, getting more press coverage for his weak ideas while the Republicans get very little press.
Me. Obama once again, said he would be willing to make spending cuts if the Republicans will allow for tax increases. But he never says what he will cut. Smoke and mirrors. He says what people want to hear and then foes not follow through. Why should we trust his word. Remember the bailout? Where did that money go, the money that was to stimulate the economy? It went to Big Car business and Big Banks.  O and yes to many unions so they could keep their employees working and paying union dues so they could turn around and give large donations to the Democratic party. For those of you who continue to be unemployed and to the newly unemployed, where is your bailout? O that's right, 96 weeks of benefits. Has that made you rich or even kept your head above water?
Our country is drowning in a mountain of debt and all the President can say is raise taxes on the rich. How does that work? Let's use a little common sense here. Let's say we do raise the taxes on the rich, for example big oil. they currently have an 8% profit margin and that goes to the stock holders, some of which are middle class Americans. but we are going to raise their taxes anyway. What happens? Gas prices go up! Common sense, they are not going to let their stock holders hold the bag because they will lose invested money that is used to explore and develop oil or new sources of energy. Who gets hurt? Middle and Poor Americans. When gas hits $4.00 a gallon many of us cannot afford to do any of the extras. We eat out less. we buy only what is necessary and many other people are affected by the drop in consumer spending. Another example, Farms. When their costs go up do they eat that extra expense or do they pass that on to the consumer? Common Sense, Farmers are in business to make a profit so the can feed their families and have some of the nicer things in life. By The Way, many Farmers are in the rich class because their farms produce more than $250,000 dollars a year, so they are going to have a tax increase. Example 3, Walmart. They are going to have to pay more taxes so what do they do to maintain the profit margin that they need to keep open stores and distribution centers? Common Sense, They will have to cut employees and you know how you have to wait in line now. So you can see that we have a vicious cycle here, taxes go up, prices go up, more people lose their jobs and then we have even less going to the government to pay for all the pet projects.

Our Government is currently bringing in about 203 billion dollars a month and spending about 327 billion. We definitely have a problem. But if we raised the taxes on all people making more than $250,000 to 100% we could not make up the 130 billion short fall each month. We must create jobs so that more people are paying taxes. Not Minimum wage jobs, but real jobs with future and the government cannot and will not do that. We must get government out of the way of the job creating free market and see what happens. It will take some time but if we reduce the size and scope of government, we would be able to reduce the deficit to a reasonable level within 10 years. Doesn't that sound like common sense?
Mr. Obama your rhetoric is no longer needed or wanted, get out of the way of real progress.

Can you believe the nerve of the Obama administration telling us that tax increases on small business will add to the revenue and create jobs. Also, They want us to believe that taxes are necessary so that govenment doesn't have to shrink. This is the Truth "Democrats want to destroy this great nation, not build it."

I  bought a bird feeder. I hung It on my back porch and filled
It with seed. What a beauty of A bird feeder it was, as I filled it
Lovingly with seed. Within a Week we had hundreds of birds Taking advantage of the
Continuous flow of free and Easily accessible food.
But then the birds started Building nests in the boards
Of  the patio, above the table, And next to the barbecue.
Then came the poop. It was Everywhere: on the  patio tile,
The chairs, the table                           ..
Everywhere!
Then some of the birds Turned mean. They would
Dive bomb me and try to Peck me even though I had
Fed them out of my own Pocket. And others birds were
Boisterous and loud. They Sat on the feeder and
Squawked and screamed at All hours of the day and night
And demanded that I fill it When it got low on food.
After a while, I couldn't even Sit on my own back porch
Anymore.  So I took down  the Bird feeder and in three days
The birds were gone. I cleaned Up their mess and took down
The many nests they had built All over the patio and the back yard was like
It used to be ......  Quiet, serene.... And no one demanding  their
Rights to a free meal.

Now let's see.....Our government gives out  Free food, subsidized housing,
Free medical care and free Education, and allows anyone Born here to be an                                 automatic Citizen. Then the illegals came by the Tens of thousands. Suddenly
Our taxes went up to pay for Free services; small apartments Are housing 5                                 families; you Have to wait 6 hours to be seen By an emergency room doctor;
Your child's second grade class is Behind other schools because
Over half the class doesn't speak English. Corn Flakes now come in a
Bilingual box; I have to 'press one ' to hear my bank Talk to me in English, and
People waving flags other Than our flag are Squawking and screaming
In the streets, demanding More rights and free liberties. Just my opinion, but                                 maybe it's time for the government To take down the bird feeder.

The Myth of Government Default

President Obama and his cronies are saying if we don't reach an agreement by August 2, the government will default on the debt. Therefore we must raise the debt ceiling so we can borrow more money. Does that make any sense to anyone? If I were at the brink of default on my personal finances I would simply go out and get another credit card or line of credit. that way when I couldn't pay a bill I could use the new line of credit to make the payment on the first. Wow, how does that work? No, if I were at the brink of default I could cut back on spending and lower my debt threshold. This would be done by cutting back on discretionary spending and reallocating those funds to reduce my debt.
So why is this not the same tactic that the government would use? The Democrats and progressives believe that we do not have enough revenue to cover the existing debt and we must raise the revenue with additional taxes on the rich. But they have been unwilling to talk about the real problem SPENDING.
Spending is out of control in our government. Example, The Department of Energy has been assigned the task of reducing our dependence on foreign oil and yet, after billions of dollars wasted, we are still dependent. the Department of Education has lost its integrity and destroyed many children through lack of true education. But I digress.
Default cannot happen unless the government refuses to service the debt. You see the government receives about Two Hundred Billion dollars a month in revenue and the interest on the debt is about twenty billion. so there is enough money to continue to pay each month. Unfortunately, our government (Democrats and the President) don't believe we are spending enough. they believe that we can spend our way to a level playing field for everyone, rather than making a level field of opportunity. Give more and more to the poor and keep them enslaved, while taking more and more from the rich in order to enslave them as well.
Another thing, what happens when we reach the new debt ceiling? Are we going to raise it again and again? How long will we continue to borrow more without putting a stop to the real problem? Do we just keep "kicking the can down the road?" As President Obama said the other day? Who is going to take true responsible action? Are there any members of congress that will stand with some backbone and refuse to allow the threats to persuade them? Stop increasing our debt limit and reduce spending now.
No, we will not default, we will overcome and do the right thing. "WE THE PEOPLE"

Independence Day

On July 4th we celebrate Independence, an historical date which is remembered for the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Why did we need a Declaration? Were we not already independent?
In 1620 a group of separatists, also known as Pilgrims headed away form England, headed for a new world just so they would be free to worship as they believed. Thy no longer could abide by the government telling them what to believe and how to believe. State run churches were not what these people wanted. Half of the Pilgrims that landed at Cape Cod, after 66 days of sea travel, feel ill and died. Yet, the remaining group stayed on and fought for what they believed in, freedom of worship.  as the Colonies grew, they began to be oppressed by the British government. After all they were still loyal British subjects. The King began to impose strong laws that began to diminish the freedom of the colonists. Thus, began a verbal rebellion. The Black Robed Regiment, as they were known by the British, began to preach the gospel in a political fashion denouncing the King and reminding people that God was the Sovereign and He alone could give freedom. Many of these sermons became the foundation of the Declaration of Independence. One preacher of that day, John Locke, wrote in his book "Second Treatise on Government," "The most desirable government is one that protected human life, liberty, and estate. therefore government should be limited: it should be strong enough to protect these three inalienable rights." The Declaration of Independence states we have inalienable rights of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. 

The word 'inalienable' means something is incapable of being repudiated or transferred to another. The adjective is commonly used to refer to things not alienable such as birthright.

The colonists understood that the only rights they truly had were given by God, the right to live life to the best of their ability, the right to live that life freely as long as it did not infringe on he rights of others, and the right to pursue happiness by effort to fulfill their desires.

Just as the King George wanted to oppress the people of America, today we have a big government that wants to oppress our freedom to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The government wants to replace those rights with the right to universal health care, the right to pay more in taxes, the right to pay more for energy, and the right to take away form the workers to give to the non-worker.

I am reminded of a verse in the Bible "you reap what you sow." Today we are reaping the harvest of pain, suffering, joblessness, and energy dependence, because our government, led by progressives and elitists, have planted the seeds of deceit. They have told the "poor and disenfranchised that they would be taken care of, as long as they could collect the taxes of the wealthy. They never told these people that they would become enslaved to these programs and that opportunity would die.

Today the middle and lower class families have little hope of striking out on their own to discover the bold new world. They are simply at the mercy of a big government that wants to control their lives forever. What kind of independence is that? Unfortunately, the more the government gives the more people want them to give and this is a form of sowing as well. we sow to our nature of laziness and a desire to be given the things that we want and need. Big government is winning. Through progressive programs we got welfare, food stamps, social security, medicare, medicaid, and many many other government programs that are supposed to make life better. However, the reality is that it has made life more difficult because more and more people are opting out of the work ethic and depending on government to live. 

I am not saying that we should abolish these programs but we must understand that many families have been destroyed because of this dependence. Truly Independence has been torn apart because of dependence on government. Some would say that the government is free to confiscate wealth to give to the poor and needy, I disagree, the Church and private institutions should be the ones to take care of the poor and needy. Teaching them to strong and independent. Obviously there are always going to be people who are totally dependent on others but those who have should be given the option of who their funds help. I should not be told that my tax dollars go to pay for things that I do not agree with, such as public radio, who raises millions of dollars through donations and still gets government money. This to me is a violation of my inalienable rights. When my money is taken to fund these programs and I have to sacrifice something that my family may need it irritates me.

 

The King of England had started increasing the taxes of the colonists beyond and above what was tolerable, so the people rebelled.

If our government continues in it's current people will rebel. Not necessarily with war, but certainly with words just as the Black Robed Regiment. I for one will be voicing my opinion about the course of government and calling for change in everyone from the President through the Senate and House of Representatives all the way down to local government. Because I still believe in our Independence Day. God Bless The United States of America and all of Her Citizens. 

Obama's Press conference 6/29/11

First, I must say that I do not believe a single word that comes out of Mr. Obama's Mouth. With that said I want to highlight a couple of things that he said in his press conference today.

He believes that Democrats and Republicans will reach an agreement on reasonable spending cuts and end tax cuts to the super wealthy and flourishing oil companies, avoiding  a looming and potentially catastrophic American default on it's debt.
It is obvious that Mr. Obama and the liberal party do not want a recovery, they want Americans to be slaves to "big government". What are reasonable spending cuts? Mr Obama has not made a list of acceptable cuts nor a plan to turn around this dismal economy. Yet, he wants to blame Republicans for trying to hurt middle and lower class families. What is happening to them right now under his administration? Jobs are being lost and more and more people are holding their hands out to the government because they have no recourse. Tax the super rich, the ones who create the jobs. Not just by employing people but through their buying habits. They go to restaurants where people are employed, they buy cars form companies that have employees. They travel to destinations that require workers to provide a service. They invest their money into the economy and that is what allows the so called lower and middle class to have jobs. Go ahead and take away some of that money and see what happens. The rich will not lose their riches, they will simply slow sown on some of the things they do in order to hold onto their wealth. Then who gets hurt? Us the little people that Mr. Obama and the democrats are always saying they fight for. What? Do your thing Dem's and more people will be hurt.
Next, Why does Mr. Obama think that oil companies are flourishing? Is it because they make such gross profits? their profit margin is a mere 8% and that is before they pay for research and development. If Obama wants to really help the economy, he would open the gulf back up to our drilling instead of the South Americans and Chinese. Also, there are rich oil reserves in our own country that continue to go untapped because of the cry of environmentalists(wackos).
Get a grip America, The progressive movement is out to destroy this country and all that we have stood for. Capitalism, freedom, and pursuit of happiness.
Mr. Obama also said, "Call me naive but I expect leaders to lead." When has he ever lead? He is always trying to ride in at the last minute to save the day. He is a follower, not a leader. He has never had any experience in business, nor did he study economics in school. Except Keynesian economics which have been proven to fail over and over again. You cannot spend your way out of a crisis.
Lead by example Mr. Obama,stop using tax payer dollars for your wife and children to go on lavish trips. $800,000 the last time. Stop using tax dollars for your czar positions that have not had to be approved by congress. Unfortunately your leadership example is to give your cronies authority to destroy i.e. EPA sets new regulations on coal causing many electric companies to shut down coal plants, or re-tool at very high costs so they will meet new emissions standards. These standards are all because of your belief in global warming, which has been debunked.  Who is going to pay for that? We the people!
America, do you want revolution? I hope it does not go that far. We need a common sense approach to solving these problems and we  are not getting this from the current government. We need true conservatives to take up the fight and we need to get rid of this president and the progressive democrats and republicans who are in congress right now.

CBO Not Being Truthful About Debt

On July 22, the Congressional Budget Office's (CBO) issued its latest long-term projections on the growth of the national debt. Astonishingly, as bad as the numbers issued by the CBO were, the debt crisis the nation faces is even worse than we are being told.

The CBO analysis does not take into account the full $14.344 trillion national debt, nor does it reflect the $430 billion in gross interest payments we are paying every year.

Instead it only considers the $9.7 trillion 'debt held by the public'. That was cited by the CBO. What was not was the $4.6 trillion of debt owed to the Medicare and Social Security trust funds. Interest is owed to those programs similarly is not included.

These are real liabilities that the American people are expected to honor, and do honor under CBO's analysis. But because they are not revealed until 2024 and 2036, when the trust funds are fully exhausted, even the dire scenarios that are presented to the American people are actually rosy.

Why would the CBO leave this out of their analysis? Ostensibly, economists would counter that it's just money owed to ourselves, and not a share of debt held publicly. That, those obligations might be repudiated. So they shouldn't be counted until they come due."

How much longer are we going to allow the government to lie, making false claims about the problems we have with the budget and future of our nation? Too many people believe that The CBO is a non-partisan group, when in reality they are doing the bidding of the President. Mr. Obama believes that we can spend our way into prosperity. He wants us to increase the debt limit along with many of the democrats and a few of the republicans.  Let me ask you a question. If you were in trouble with your finances would it be wise to get another line of credit to extend your buying power? No that would not make any sense. Yet, we are being told that if we go beyond the debt limit we will go into default. Well, what do we think is going to happen if we continue to add to that debt? Will we ever be solvent again. The "buck" must stop here or our children and their children, and so on, will not have a prayer of a chance at opportunity of freedom.
Wake up America and let your congressmen and senators know that raising the debt ceiling is not an option. We must cut spending PERIOD!

The Monkey In The Room-Abortion

Many people believe that the fundamental difference between Republicans and Democrats is the abortion issue. I would like to address this issue. First I am not for abortion, I think it is wrong and very harmful. Not only to the life that is taken away, but also to the woman who goes through with the act.
I Have counseled several women who have gone through this and here from them, "I cannot live with this choice it hurts so bad." "God will never forgive me." I tell them that God will always forgive because He loves them even when they make bad choices.
Back to the issue. You cannot legislate morality, no matter how hard you try you cannot force people to make choices of this type based on Law. They will always rebel when they feel they have no options. If a woman wants to have an abortion she will do it because she has the "right" under the current law. Unfortunately, many people who call themselves "christian" then look down on them and condemn them for that choice. Stop that!! We need to love these women and help them to overcome the psychological issues they will face after.
As for the law, I think we should overturn Roe v. Wade and stop federally funding abortions. Leave the issue to the individual states where the power is supposed to exist under the constitution. When we de-fund abortion many of the women who go tho planned parenthood will then begin to think about their choice because my tax dollars will not be paying for their abortions. I know this sounds harsh, but this will give women a chance to see both sides of the issue instead of rushing into the "choice" and suffering needlessly afterward.
Abortion is the supposed easy way out but  it truly leaves lasting scares. Many, maybe all of these children would have been adopted or accepted and never got that chance. Let's stop using this a political tool for the parties and get back to common sense and moral absolutes.

30 million barrels from the Strategic Petro Reserve

"President Obama Abuses Nation's Oil Reserves

When it comes to making bad energy policy decisions, President Obama is a pro. Yesterday was no exception when the Obama Administration announced it would release 30 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR). This is part of an agreement with the International Energy Agency (IEA) to put a total of 60 million barrels on the market in the next 30 days. Another 27 nations will make up the other half of the oil needed.

President Obama and the IEA first explained this irresponsible action by noting a supply disruption as a result of the war in Libya. However, this disruption does not justify the depletion of the SPR, and the Administration doesn't have the legal rationale, either. The White House slightly changed its tune late yesterday when Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters it was meant as protection against increasing gas prices over the summer driving season."

Does anybody think this is going to have an affect for a long period of time. the only thing this will do is reduce the amount of reserve we have when there is a real emaergency. I think this is a ploy on the part of Mr. Obama to make his poll ratings go up for the summer and he can say look what I did for you. Just like "I shot Osama Bin Laden."
Why are we not taalking seriously about drilling in the Bakkens and other oil reserves in our own nation? Duh! It is the environmentalists who fight for mother earth. It is okay if other countries drill, even in the Gulf Of Mexico, but not us. We must take the "moral" high road and save the planet. Damn the human population, they are the ones who destroyed it in the first place,, let them do without.
Well I say enough. We cannot replace oil with electric if we are closing power plants.(see my earlier post) Solar and Wind make up less than 8% of the current energy production and is projected to only reach a maximum of 25%. How will we recharge our electrric cars. We will not make up the short fall of demand by releasing a few barrels for the STR. We are being dupped by this administration because they believe we are stupid enough to fall for thier "truth" which is a lie. Many of the current Republicans are just as bad as Democrats because they believe thay have the power to rule over us.

Are we sheep or are we Americans. Take a stand an fight the Elitists in government. Let's take back our Nation the land of the free and the home of the brave, where opportunity abounds and people can still make something of thier lives.

Another Bailout

The EU is looking into giving Greece another bailout of at least 157 billion dollars. The US is right in the mix with Mr. Obama saying that is is necessary to maintain the stability of world markets. but , I ask, How can we continue to bail out other countries when our economy is in such a disaster? Wouldn't we be better off serving our own people first? We need more jobs, lower gas prices, both we can get by simply drilling in our own country. We keep throwing more and more money into the pot and expect things to get better if we are not doing the first things first.
The thing I see in all of this is a push into a one world monetary system. You see the more countries that get bailouts the more countries that have to participate until every country is in the same situation and the world economy collapses. Then the ruling class in the world will roll out the single world monetary unit and there you have it . The next step is one world government.
I say we should stand and fight if we want to hold to our nations sovereignty and keep our freedoms.

What is Wrong With Some of These Democrats

I don't understand why this crazy congress woman would say something like this. Yes there have been some things that have happened in our world that were attributed to Christians that were not at all Christ Like. But true believers are loving and caring people who want what is best for everyone around them.
I am tired of being lumped into a category that people like Sheila Jackson-Lee won't take time to get to know. She is a hater and wants to target all who call themselves Christians even when there is no evidence at all that Christians are terrorists. On the other hand, she wants to give a free ride to the Muslim world, in the name of political correctness? What a useless and tactless attitude she has.
Ms. Lee if you want to get to know real Christians then go search the truth of the Bible as Jesus taught it and as many of His followers live it. Don't look at those who bomb abortion clinics for your truth, those types of people are not Christians at all.

Democrat: We Need 'Analysis of How Christian Militants … Might Bring Down The Country’

(CNSNews.com) – At a congressional hearing on Muslim radicalization in U.S. prisons, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) said that investigators needed to analyze Christian militants in America because they too might try to “bring down the country.”
In an exchange with witness Patrick Dunleavy, the former deputy inspector of the criminal intelligence unit, New York Department of Correctional Services, Rep. Jackson Lee mentioned the case of a man who blew up an abortion clinic and proposed that this perhaps was an attempt to undermine U.S. law that allows a woman to procure an abortion.
Rep. Lee then said, “As we look to be informational, we should include an analysis of how Christian militants or others might bring down the country. We have to look broadly, do we not?”
Dunleavy answered: “I don’t know that Christian militants have foreign country backing or foreign country financing.”

Lee then said, “I don’t think that’s the issue. The issue is whether or not their intent is to undermine the laws of this nation. And I think it is clear that that is the case. So it’s not -- your distinction is not answering the question.”

I weep for people who are in the darkness such as Ms. Lee and I wish she would come to the light of truth, and not claim to be enlightened by elitist higher education. what a crock of crap she believes.
True Christians militants do not want to bring down the country, we simply want to establish the truth of Jesus' Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven. 

Land of the Free

I just read an article from the UK Daily Mail. It ranks states by the freedoms that the citizens have. California and New York are the worst. While New Hampshire, Indiana, and South Carolina are ranked at the top. the thing that hit me though is the state That I live in is ranked toward the bottom.
Ohio is a state that has so many regulations that infringe upon individual rights. Why are we treated like we cannot make a common sense decision on our own? The Federal government is bad enough without the state adding more items to the list.
What has happened to Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, as well as personal responsibility?

Does Anybody Know The Truth

I was speaking to a guy at work yesterday and he told me that he lost a $65,000 a year job because GW Bush raised taxes and the company closed up and moved to Mexico. What? As I recall GW lowered taxes, Didn't He? Or was that a lie?
Tax policies that are hurting companies and people are caused by Democrats who have been writing tax code for a long time. an oppressive tax system that is so confusing creates problems for everyone. Why can't we simplify the tax code?
a flat tax or Fair tax would change the way companies view their future opportunities and allow for the American people to spend their money the way they think it should be spent. However, we have a government that is not really for the people. They are actually for themselves. they want to control every aspect of our lives. George W. was a good president but not a great one. He was in fact more progressive than conservative which means he did favor bigger government, but he also had some restraint. He did listen to the people on a lot of issues, but when it came to the House and Senate being controlled by Democrats, I think he just felt like he could not win and decided to allow the lack of oversight in the housing and financial arenas. this led to TARP and the Obama bailouts.
Companies have always looked for ways to protect the profit so they can stay in business and create jobs, but when things get out of hand you can't blame them for moving if things are more profitable somewhere else.
We need to reeducate the masses with the truth instead of allowing the lame stream media to continue to tell lies.

The Republican Debate

I didn't get to watch the debate on Monday night, but I have heard a lot of commentary. The winner was this one or that one really came on strong. Michelle B. announced that she was running for president.
All this seems, on the surface to be very nice. However, the venue and the Network did not allow for the candidates to answer any really tough questions.

Mr. Cain, would you chose thick or thin crust? Mr Romney, if you order wings do you want them hot or mild? Ms. Bachman, do you like Elvis or Johnny Cash? I know that some people want the republicans to be soft and wimpy, but I prefer to have a candidate that will tear into the issues that are ripping apart our country. The economy and the role that President Obama has played in it's destruction. Illegals who get free health care and free education and don't pay taxes. The wars in Libya and Yemen and why we should not be involved. Obama Care that will tear apart the very fabric of good health care. High gas prices that can be brought down if we just simply drill here and drill now. Jobs, Jobs, Jobs, and the fact that Mr. Obama has not brought us back to any form of growth in our economy.

Where is the backbone and guts we need to lead us to an awakening of the American Dream? We need a Leader not a Politician who thinks he looks good to the voters. Give us something to grab hold of, a little hope that things are going to be fixed and the dream of this once great nation will again be within the grasp of anyone who wants to reach for it. Or should we just consider the idea that we need to move away to another country where all of the jobs have gone. It is time to stand up for truth and throw out the progressives who want to change this to a ruling class/slave class society, because quite frankly I do not want to be a slave.

The Way of Destruction

This is a personal thought that I have been having today.
In Matthew Chapter 7, Jesus is still giving His sermon telling the people what the kingdom of God looks like. He says, " In everything treat people the way you want them to treat you...." Then as He goes on he says something that would have raised eyebrows in that time. "Enter through the narrow gate, for the gate is wide that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. for the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few that find it. So beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves."

How appropriate are these words for today? So many people have jumped on the band wagon of things like "global warming", the need to reduce the use of fossil fuels, big government, labor unions, and many other ideas that are leading our nation down the broad or wide path to destruction. Now before you get all upset with me allow me a chance to explain.
First, I agree that we have a responsibility to take care of this earth. After all it is the only one we have. However, when we decide that man made global warming is so devastating to the future of this planet and we must reduce carbon emissions, then we have a lot of sheep following the "leader" to destruction. God created this earth and gave man dominion over it. This does not mean he can destroy it, he doesn't have the ability. Stop for a minute and think about this, solar and wind energy make up less than 2% of our current need. Experts also say that the technology is several years away that will allow it to produce more than tha amount. Now the federal government and the EPA have put rules into place that have changed the rules on coal fired power plants, and AEP, an energy provider in Ohio and West Virginia is closing 5 production facilities and 600 people are losing their jobs. Is this not leading this nation to destruction?
Second, While labor unions have had their place in helping the workers get better pay and benefits, they have now come to the point where they use membership dues to fund liberal-progressive government ideas that continue to devastate our nation. When public employees, who are paid by taxpayers, start making more and more demands that cause the taxpayers to revolt, we know there is a problem. Most of the people in the unions, I believe, are good people. they are simply pawns in the big game and being used. When the Obama administration gives billions to labor unions for bailouts and then gives them waivers on the health care, there has to be a problem.
Now we are expected to just sit back and take whatever the government wants to do with our money. Well I say that I will not be lead down the side path that leads to destruction. I will chose the narrow way of Jesus Christ and allow Him to lead me to Life.
We have a choice, We can turn our hearts back to God the creator of all things and humble ourselves before Him. This will lead to a renewal of this great nation and a great people . but, if we continue down the wide path, this nation is destined to fail, and I believe this is exactly what The enemies of God want.
There are some many more examples of this destructive behavior but for now it is time to "Wake up Church, and wake up America."

EPA Tactics of Destruction

I received this in an email and it is truly disturbing. Our Freedoms are under attack as well as our financial futures.

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, the former governor of coal-producing West Virginia, is blasting the Obama administration for using the Environmental Protection Agency to regulate coal-fueled power plants out of business. On Thursday, American Electric Power company announced that to comply with a series of EPA regulations, it will close five coal-fired plants -- three in West Virginia and one each in Ohio and Virginia -- at a net cost of 600 jobs. American Electric Power is one of the largest electric utilities in the United States, delivering electricity to more than 5 million customers in 11 states. " How can we stop this? First we must let our representatives know that we are aware and we want this to stop. Second, we must make sure Obama does not get re-elected!
