Medicare Reform

It seems to me that Medicare is in a deep hole and maybe there is no way to fix it. However, Rep. Paul Ryan has put together a plan that will put the program back on solid footing. Yet the Democrats and President B. Obama say that it will put seniors at risk. What? As if the current plan is not putting seniors at risk already. I recieved this short article from Freedon Works:
"We Can Save Medicare
If we do not act now, the failure of leadership by President Obama and Democrats in Congress will lead our Medicare system to certain bankruptcy. We can save Medicare for current seniors and make sure it's around for our children and grandchildren by supporting Representative Paul Ryan.
In his "Path to Prosperity", Rep. Ryan has laid out a plan to save Medicare by creating a patient-centered system for seniors that gives them more choices for their health care while reining in exploding costs.
Rep. Ryan's plan ensures that present seniors in Medicare are not affected and provides a sustainable path for future enrollees. In the video below Rep. Ryan offers a powerful explanation of his plan
It's simple, it's cost-effective and it puts the patient -- not bureaucrats -- in control. But President Obama and Democrats believe attacking Rep. Ryan's plan, while offering no solutions of their own for saving Medicare, is a winning electoral strategy: Attack Rep. Ryan, win the next election.
The problem is this "strategy" will come at the expense of seniors and taxpayers. Worst part is that President Obama has already admitted we're on an unsustainable course:
"Medicare is slated to go into the red in about eight to 10 years. I don't know if people are aware of that." - President Barack Obama, August 2009"
If we do nothing we are in more danger of harming seniors and future generations who will be relying on this program. We need to aleast give Paul Ryans plan a chance.
We're aware Mr. President, now what are you going to do about it?

Where to Buy Gas

You might want to pass this on. I buy 90% of our gasoline at BP, but take a look at WALMART. WOW they do it right (Notice where Wal-Mart gets their gasoline!)

WHERE TO BUY AMERICAN GASOLINE. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW. READ ON.
Are you aware that the Saudis are boycotting American products? In addition, they are gouging us on oil prices.

Shouldn't we return the favor? Can't we take control of our own destiny and let these giant oil importers know who REALLY generates their profits, their livings? How about leaving American Dollars in America and reduce the import/export deficit?

An appealing remedy might be to boycott their GAS. Every time you fill up your car you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia . Just purchase gas from companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.

Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill up my tank, I'm sending my money to people who I get the impression want me, my family and my friends dead.
The following gas companies import Middle Eastern oil:
Shell...................................... 205,742,000 barrels Chevron/Texaco.................... 144,332,000 barrels Exxon /Mobil.......................... 130,082,000 barrels Marathon/Speedway............. 117,740,000 barrels Amoco................................... 62,231,000 barrels

And CITGO oil is imported from Venezuela by Dictator Hugo Chavez who hates America and openly avows our economic destruction! (We pay Chavez's regime nearly $10 Billion per year in oil revenues!)
The U.S. currently imports 5,517,000 barrels of crude oil per day from OPEC. If you do the math at $100 per barrel, that's over $550 million PER DAY ($200 BILLION per year!) handed over to OPEC, many of whose members are our confirmed enemies! It won't stop here - oil prices could go to $200 a barrel or higher if we keep buying their product.
Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:

Sunoco....................0 barrels
Conoco.. .................0 barrels
0ASinclair................0 barrels
BP / Phillips.............0 barrels
Hess.........................0 barrels
ARC0........................0 barrels
Maverick...................0 barrels
Flying J....................0 barrels Valero.......................0 barrels
Murphy Oil USA*......0 barrels
*Sold at Wal-Mart , gas is from South Arkansas and fully USA owned and produced.
*Not only that but they give scholarships to all children in their town who finish high school and are legal US citizens.

All of this information is available from the U.S. Department of Energy and each company is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing.
Thanks to Michael McAdams for sending me this informtation

Diabetes

Recently I was experiencing a lot of bad days with my blood sugar levels. My HbA1c ws at 8.9, which means my average over the previous three months was around 200-212 every time I checked my sugar levels. My Doctor and I were at a loss as to why my levels were so high but I went to a specialist. the specialist put me on a very low carbohydrate diet and I began to track everything that I ate. When I returned to myspecialist 3 months later my HbA1c was down to 6.5. this means my daily averages were down to around 121.
My doctor then decided to put me on a new medication. I was already taking 20 mg of Glipizide and 40 units of  insulin. Now I am on 2000mg of metformin.
It has been 4 weeks now since I started this new med and I have been seeing glucose readings of 70-75 and the highest I have had in the last 2 weeks is 135. I think that I am being over medicated. I say this because I have not been getting the physical exercise that I usually get(this helps keep my glucose levels down) and yet I am seeing great numbers. I know that I should be exercising more and bringing down the numbers naturally but if this is working why should I kill myself with exercise?
If you are haveing trouble with your blood glucose join my blog and add your comments so we can have a discussion and maybe help each other with some answers.

Benjamin Netanyahu

Today I caught bits and peices of Mr. Netanyahu's speech to the combined houses of congress. I was impressed by the calmness in which he made his delivery. I did not hear a very word, I was soppused to be working, but the one thing he said that really got my attention: "Isreal is not what is wrong with the middle east, Isreal is what is right with the middle east." I beleive he is absolutely right. Isreal has been battered and beaten by terrorists for so many years and yet they stand.
The USA must maintain a strong relationship of support for the nation and people of Isreal. they are the only strong Democratic state in the region and they beleive in freedom for thier people and those who live among them.
Go Mr, Netanyahu.

Prayers for Joplin, MO.

As I sit this morning watching the news and see the devastation of Joplin, My heart goes out as I cry for theses who have lost so much.
Many will blame God and many will cliam it is a judgement from God, but the truth is God is merciful and loves the people of this world.
People of Joplin we are praying for you. God will give you peace.
